Hello, this is Shiba Koen/Mita SACHI Dental Clinic.

“I want whiter teeth, but cleaning a mouthpiece every day sounds like a hassle…” “I’m too busy to keep going to the dentist.” If that sounds like you, we recommend Opalescence Go, a home whitening system that is easy to start.
Opalescence Go uses ready-made trays that come prefilled with whitening gel. There is no need to take impressions and make a custom mouthpiece. You can use it straight out of the package.

Four features of Opalescence Go

  1. Prefilled with gel, so setup and cleanup are easy
With typical home whitening, you have to inject gel from a syringe into a custom mouthpiece. Opalescence Go trays already contain the gel, so no preparation is needed. The trays are single-use and disposable, so there is no mouthpiece to wash and no gel to measure or store.
  2. Whiten whenever it suits you
You can whiten at whatever time fits your lifestyle, such as during free time at home or while relaxing. It also suits people who are busy and want fewer clinic visits.
  3. Soft trays that fit your teeth easily
The special trays become more flexible with body temperature. Once in your mouth, they adapt to your teeth and keep the gel in close contact with the tooth surface.
*Pressing the tray hard with your fingers can push gel out onto the gums and cause irritation. When fitting it, the key is to gently suck the tray into place.
  4. May be usable during orthodontic treatment
Opalescence Go can sometimes be used during orthodontic treatment. However, where brackets or other appliances are attached to the teeth, the gel cannot reach those areas, and uneven color may show after the appliances are removed. If you would like to whiten during orthodontic treatment, be sure to consult our dentist first.

How to use it and how long to wear it

It is very simple to use, so even busy people can keep it up.

  1. Take it out: Remove the tray from the package.
  2. Put it in: Place a tray on the upper teeth and one on the lower teeth.
  3. Fit it: Gently suck in to fit the tray to your teeth.
  4. Wipe off: If excess gel gets on your gums, gently remove it with a tissue.
  5. Wait: Wear it for the time your dentist instructs (up to 90 minutes).
  6. Remove and rinse: When the time is up, remove the trays, throw them away, and rinse your mouth well with water.

[Wearing time] Wearing it longer does not make your teeth whiter. To prevent sensitivity and gum problems, always follow the wearing time your dentist gives you.

Precautions for safe whitening (risks and side effects)

To have the treatment safely, please note the following in advance.

  • Sensitivity: During whitening, your teeth may temporarily become sensitive to cold, or your gums may feel uncomfortable.
  • Gum irritation: If a lot of gel is left on the gums, it can cause a stinging pain or make the gums turn white temporarily.
  • Treat cavities and gum disease first: If you have advanced cavities or gum disease, the whitening agent may cause severe pain. We always complete a checkup and any necessary treatment before you start.
  • *If strong pain or discomfort continues, stop using it immediately and contact our clinic.
